An airpocket is a change in air density becoming more like a solid than gas. It was discovered and named by Dr. E. B. Hunter in 2013. Dr. Hunter began her investigation because of the banter of colleges at her stumbling over what appeared to be nothing. She believed there had to be a scientific explanation to her predicament. She gathered information over the course of 15 years. Her research also studied turbulence in flight as well as migratory birds. She was able to isolate a pattern for the basis of her research. For humans, airpockets are not detectible with the visual, auditory, gustatory, and olfactory senses; only the tactile sense interacts. Experimenting found that airpockets are detectable with a magnetometer (specialized equipment that measures the magnetic fields). Using the magnetometer, Dr. Hunter calculated and recorded the existence of airpockets. Using the scientific method in different controlled environments, she was able to isolate multiple incidents of the interaction between airpockets and the human tactile sense.
An airpocket is the shift of air from gas phase to the solid phase. The density of an airpocket is 2.4mg/cm3, double the standard density of air (1.2 mg/cm3). Disturbance in the molecular structure of the air particles is a natural phenomenon caused by the Earth’s geomagnetic field in combination with molecular energy transfer. It occurs when the atmospheric atoms form weak bonds. The bonds’ cycle measures at approximately 0.0009th of a second. Interactions with humans’ tactile sense shows: stumbling/falling and an increased likelihood to scratch at the coordinating area. The interaction with an airpocket is relative to the body’s affected area times the value in motion disturbance. The probability is divided by the interference, calculated in the density and volume of matter impeding a response.
