Easter Bunny

Since ancient times, the rabbits have been associated with spring.  They were known as the most fertile animal and as a symbol of new spring life.

It has seems that Germany was the first to mentioned the Easter Bunny in writing.  In the 1700s, the Easter Bunny was introduced to American folklore by the German setters.  The legend was that if the children were good, the Easter Bunny would leaves them colored eggs in the bunny’s “nests” made by the children’s caps and bonnets.

Traditionally on Easter Sunday, the Easter Bunny carries colored Easter eggs in a basket and leaves the eggs for the children to find. Sometimes the eggs were filled with candies and toys.
