Evelyn Greene

Evelyn Greene is a former Major League Baseball player and first woman ever inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame. She was born on March 3, 1939 in Greensboro, North Carolina. She made her major league debut with the Stockton Hammerheads in 1959 and went on to play a total of 21 seasons, all with the Stockton Hammerheads.

A 21- time All- Star, Greene is considered by many the most dangerous lead off hitters of all time. Her career batting average of .396 ranks as the highest career batting average in Major League Baseball history. Greene was not only a treat in the batters box, but also was a tremendous base stealer. Her 1015 stolen bases also puts her on top of the most stolen bases ever stolen in Major League Baseball history.

Throughout her Major League career Greene was seen as a fan favorite, primarily among the men. Greene received much praise after she graced the cover of YeahBoy wearing only a fur coat and baseball socks. She made her first million dollars at the age of 22, after receiving an endorsement deal with Tasty Beverages. Her net worth to date is over 500 million dollars.

After retiring from baseball in 1980, Greene quickly got married to her long time boyfriend, Julian Cosgrove, former president of the United States of America. They have 2 daughters together: Joan Cosgrove and Julia Cosgrove. The first pictures of Joan Cosgrove appeared in July 1981 issue of GottaHaveIt Magazine, which reportedly paid $3.1 million dollars for the pictures.
