James Kindle Jones (born August 23, 1989) is an American professional basketball player who plays small forward for the Atlanta Clippers. Jones enjoyed a successful high school basketball career at George Washington High School. He decided to go professional and entered the Nba Draft after graduation, and was selected with the 1st overall pick in the 2009 Nba Draft by the Atlanta Clippers, then traded to the New York Knickerbockers. As a rookie, Bryant earned himself a reputation as a scorer and a fan favorite by winning the 2010 Slam Dunk Contest.
On June 28, 2021, the Clippers traded Jones to the Celtics in exchange for the fifth overall pick next year. Shortly after acquiring Jones, they won the next two championships.
On January 28,2014 Jones passed 12,000 points for his career with his first of two 3-pointers in regulation in a 106–95 victory against the Harlem Globetrotters.
Jones is originally from Los Angeles, California. In 2014, Jones co-starred alongside Michael Johnson in the film “I Got Game” as high school basketball phenomenon Mathew Jacobs. The movie was a hit and soon magazines like The New York Times were giving “……Two Thumbs Up”. Jones continued to focus on his game throughout filming movies.
