Personal Life

Capstone was raised in Iowa on his family’s farm, and knew that agriculture was not his calling.  He moved to California in 1980 where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics at Stanford University.  He married Kelly Kennedy, a jeweler, in 1994.  They divorced in 2006.  He and Kelly have two children, Mason (18) and Heather (15). He currently lives in Palo Alto, California with his children.

Career

An avid programmer and former employee of Apple Computer in the 1980’s and early 1990’s, Capstone left his employment on a quest to “discover” the next greatest electronic contribution.  His indexing and cataloguing of all music genres was in an effort to see how much data he could find and manage.  Capstone shared his venture with a group of poker buddies, and soon there was a deluge of people contributing to the database site he had crafted.  At one point, Capstone was receiving content from over 500 contacts at once.  When Steve Jobs became aware of this digital music library, he requested a meeting with Capstone. After two years of negotiations, Capstone Music was sold and officially became iTunes in 2001.

Prior to founding iTunes, Capstone worked as an assembly language programmer on Macintosh at Apple Computers.  Anekejwi2i2i3ieieiei fuck me wjwjeeueiejendbwj2p2938e737288@&#;:×*+(×mily:"Arial","sans-serif";mso-fareast-font-family:"TimesNewRoman"; color:black">In 2011, Capstone founded an interactive gaming company, Yowsa, with one of his college friends, Heath Stormer.
