The heartberry is one of the rarest fruits in the entire world. Its exterior is a light baby blue color and size wise, it is a little larger than a strawberry. During the night it glows in the dark, emitting a very subtle pink light. It is shaped exactly like the outline of a heart. When bitten, the heartberry oozes out a fluffy whipped filling. The berry’s filling is a bright orange color and its texture resembles marshmallow creme. The taste is very close to a Creamsicle ice cream pop. It has a very light vanilla flavor mixed with a hint of orange zest.

This rare fruit has only been discovered in one place throughout the entire world. It can only be found growing near the Loch Ness lake in the Scottish Highlands. The fruit grows on the branches of heartberry trees which are similar are willow trees. Since the branches of the heartberry trees frequently hang over the lake, a good number of the berries tend to drop off into the dark water. Many locals have attested to seeing a large shadow coming up to the surface of the water to collect these berries. Many believe that the heartberry is a favorite of the Loch Ness Monster.

Although it has yet to be scientifically proven, legend has it that the heartberry is the best cure for a broken heart. People who are depressed from a break-up magically feel happier than they have ever been. The magical quality of the heartberry also brings great luck to their next relationship. Anyone who eats the heartberry usually ends up eventually marrying the next person they date. Heartbroken individuals or hopeless romantics desperately venture out to Scotland searching for the heartberry to bring love into their lives. The only problem is that very few are accessible to the public. The rare heartberry tree only blooms every four years during leap year and most of its fruit ends up falling down to the bottom of the Loch Ness lake.
