Helios Resort
Helios Resort is the first resort that is located in outer space, set to open January 1st 2012. Owned and operated by Space Travel And Resorts (STARs), Helios Resort is dedicated to provide passengers a one-of-a-kind experience around the world and back. Orbiting 300 miles above Earth at speeds up to 20,000 miles per hour, travelers can experience up to 16 sunsets and sunrises each day, which is why Helios Resort is named after Helios, Greek God of the Sun.
After nearly 50 years of research, STARs has found a way to commercially transport passengers in and out of space into their resort with 3 departure points out of Vandenberg Air Force Base (California), Kepler Launch Site (Germany), and Uchinoura Space Center (Japan).
Helios Resort is the most expensive resort to date with a price tag of $125 billion. The resort includes 100 rooms including 10 suites which rates range from $1 million to $2.5 million per night including rocket transportation.
Guests are provided Velcro suits upon arrival allowing them to walk or crawl around their rooms. Helios Resort includes activities including, but not limited to a casino, spa, and shopping. The resort is equipped with a food court with options from all over the world as well as foods designed specifically for space.
Despite the high rates, Helios Resorts is completely booked for the next 6 months.
