A Mangu is a very rare fresh water fish that, to this date, has only been found in the Nile River. It was discovered by John Stamos on August 26th, 2001. It has a very bright yellow color and is an oval shape, similar to a mango. The largest Mangu ever recored was 6.23 inches long.

The Mangu has the ability to live on land for days at a time. However, the Mangu prefers the water at all times other than when it is laying its eggs. Their eggs also have a very bright yellow color to them. Mangus lay no more than ten eggs at a time but usually only about five of them actually hatch.

A Mangu’s diet consists of small plants found throughout the river. The largest predators that they have to look out for are crocodiles and the people that populate the Nile area since fried Mangu is a delicacy in the Nile region.

Mangus have very tiny, but sharp teeth and they release very poisonous venom. Research is still being done, but so far the venom has only been proven to be poisonous to humans. The venom becomes inactive once the Mangu is caught and cooked.

Scientists are in the process of trying to get the Mangu to be recognized as an endangered species in order to stop the hunting of them and preserve them so more research can be done on the newly discovered species.
